Artpolis, the First Organization from Kosovo to Lead a Creative Europe Project
On February 11, 2026, WAVES – Women’s Artistic Voices for Equality and Solidarity, a project funded by the European Union through the Creative Europe programme, officially launched—marking a historic milestone for Kosovo’s cultural scene: Artpolis becomes the first organization from Kosovo to lead a Creative Europe project in the field of performing arts.
This step goes beyond institutional boundaries—it represents a new wave for feminist art and European collaboration, flowing from Prishtina toward Europe.
WAVES is a transnational project that brings together four theatre-focused organizations: Artpolis (Kosovo), Eja në Teatër (Albania), Mi-Fugue Mi-Raison (France), and ART-Playback (Ukraine).
Its mission is clear and bold: to empower marginalized voices through feminist art, challenge anti-gender narratives, and build sustainable, inclusive, and resilient communities across Europe.
This project is a statement that Kosovo not only participates in Europe, but leads. A statement that feminist art is transformative power. A statement that waves that begin here can resonate across the entire continent.
This project is co-funded by the European Union. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). Neither the European Union nor EACEA can be held responsible for them.
